Mid-Life Crisis

I could have bought a sports car
All bright and shiny and red
I could have bought a mail order bride

I could have packed my job in
And gone to live in wales
And lived a life I’ve previously denied

I could have got a pony tail
on the back of my head
But I went slightly mental, instead.

It’s a mid (it’s a mid)
It’s a mid (it’s a mid)
It’s a miiiid life crisis – of that you can be sure

Yes It’s a mid (it’s a mid)
It’s a mid (it’s a mid)
It’s a mid life crisis – that we all have to endure

I could have bought a motorbike
All sleek and super fast
I could have bought the scooter of my dreams

I could have joined a secret cult
And let my eyes get glazed
Then Ventured to the woods to sit and scream

I could have done a John and Yoko
Spent my days in bed
But I went slightly mental instead

It’s a mid (it’s a mid)
It’s a mid (it’s a mid)
It’s a miiiid life crisis – of that you can be sure

Yes It’s a mid (it’s a mid)
It’s a mid (it’s a mid)
It’s a mid life crisis – that we all have to endure

It’s starts with an M and an I and a D
Then L I F and E
A C and an R and an I and then an S
And finish off with another I S as well
Oddly enough I’ve just noticed that’s isis
Which is perhaps an even more serious
Form of mid life crisis.

Anyway

I could have got my nose pierced
My tongue and nipples too
I could even have finally dyed my hair

Or had some plastic surgery
Assorted nip and tucks
And had some liposuction here and there

I could have simply killed myself
And ended up quite dead
But I went slightly mental instead

It’s a mid (it’s a mid)
It’s a mid (it’s a mid)
It’s a miiiid life crisis – of that you can be sure

Yes It’s a mid (it’s a mid)
It’s a mid (it’s a mid)
It’s a mid life crisis – that we all have to endure

It’s a mid (it’s a mid)
It’s a mid (it’s a mid)
It’s a miiiid life crisis – of that you can be sure

Yes It’s a mid (it’s a mid)
It’s a mid (it’s a mid)
It’s a mid life crisis – that we all have to endure

A song written specifically for Scribal Gathering, which seemed like the right way to touch on some of the more challenging stuff that had been happening at the time.
